Welcome to Year 2!
Home of Class 4 (Mrs Jones) and Class 5 (Mrs Sykes-Cook)
Take a look at the fun we have in Year 2.
Our Summer Term Topic is Under the Sea!
We had a visit from the Image Theatre Company.
They performed a version of the Jungle Book. All of the children from EYFS/Y1 and Y2 joined in singing the songs and acting out some of the parts.
As part of our science work we went outside to look for micro-habitats.
We used hoops and magnifying glasses to help us make observations like a true scientist!
To help us learn more about the animals we would see in the jungle we had a visit from Zoolab.
We got to see the animals and learn some interesting facts too!
Year Two visited the Deep in Hull. We saw Turtles, Sawfish, Clownfish, Blue Tangs, Sharks and lots more! We had a lovely day and it rained outside so we were happy to be inside.
We have worked really hard during Science Week.
We really enjoyed visiting the Planetarium and learning about the stars.
We have designed and built rockets and pods to land astronauts safely on the moon! We did have some help from our parents.
We also carried out some tests to see what might have made the craters on the moon!
Take a closer look at the fun we had!
To start off our topic on Monsters and Aliens we all turned green and pretended we were trapped in a space ship!!
We found a nice sunny day to go outside and look for signs of Autumn.
The days are getting shorter and colder. Lots of leaves have changed colour and fallen to the ground.
On Children in Need day we decorated biscuits to look like monkeys!
Here are some to make you feel hungry!!
